OUR ORGIN
DERBreeze was born in 2013 when Jenna Ambrush and Chile Con Cussion #62 created a homemade odor-eliminating solution to keep skates and pads fresh. What started as a simple remedy for sports gear quickly became a favorite among athletes and teammates. Like many small businesses, DERBreeze faced challenges during the pandemic and was temporarily discontinued.
RELAUNCH
In 2026, the brand returned stronger than ever with Kick Ashe #18 and Chile Con Cussion #62 leading the revival. The mother-daughter duo is now bringing back DERBreeze with a new and improved formula that helps athletes and active individuals keep their gear smelling fresh. Proudly made in Texas, DERBreeze remains committed to providing an athlete-approved solution for odor elimination.

What got you into Roller Derby?
"In 2003 I went to a Texas Roller Girls bout where the Hustlers and Hell Mary's played. Kick Ashe (left) was just 2. We were both wide eyed with confusion and excitement at what was happening on the track. It looked like so much ridiculous fun, the outfits, the aggression, the fights! Holy cow, it was wild and exciting! I was instantly invested, but really had no idea how to get involved, especially since i hadn't skated since childhood. I always told myself that I would love to try it someday. My Coworkers said I didn't fit mold of a roller girl... Hmmph! Fast forward to 2008, we had some life changes and a bigger family. I stumbled across a flyer for TXRG Rec League (Formerly Austin Roller Mom's). I called the number and spoke with Grudge Judy, who gave me the rundown and the courage to show up to a skating rink not knowing what the h*ll I was doing barely being able to skate."

What was it like growing up with a mom who was so passionate about roller derby?
"Chile and I have been part of the roller derby community for as long as I can remember. While most kids were playing volleyball, basketball, soccer, or softball, I was playing roller derby. From the age of 8 through 18, and now into adulthood, derby has been a huge part of my life.
Chile was an incredible coach, leader, and mentor, not just for me, but for so many of my teammates growing up. She has supported me through my goals in derby, my dreams as an entrepreneur, and has helped shape me into the woman I am today.
I am so grateful she found roller derby when I was young and gave me the opportunity to get involved and THRIVE in this community.
Going on 17 years, and I wouldn't change a thing."
